Meet the Staff
Coach Sam Bishop
For the last three years, Bishop trained goalkeepers of all ages in the Lehigh Valley, including keepers from schools such as Lehigh University and Lafayette College. Bishop recently served as a player/coach for the 2008 NPSL National Championship Pennsylvania Stoners. Bishop also functions as the Director of Goalkeeping with FC Lehigh and recently held positions of assistant coach with Muhlenberg Men's Team as well as the Goalkeeper Coach for the Emmaus High School Women's Team.
After four years of playing for Lehigh University, Bishop signed with the professional Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL’s Second Division in 2005. In four years Bishop was able to play against the likes of DC United of the MLS and be trained by academy coaches from prestigious clubs such as Sheffield United FC and Fulham FC from the English Premier League.
Bishop is an NSCAA certified coach receiving the Regional & Advanced Regional diplomas as well as the State, Regional, and National Goalkeeping diplomas.
Coach Rusty Riedmiller
Rusty Riedmiller has been a goalkeeper for over 15 years, and has been part of the Eastern PA ODP, Lehigh Valley Select, Stroudsburg United, East Stroudsburg University, and DeSales University Soccer teams. He has extensive knowledge regarding goalkeeping as well as other soccer concepts and tactics. He also received his undergraduate degree from DeSales University with a Major in Business Management, and a Minor in Sport Management.
Currently Riedmiller works for Pride of the Pitch, a local soccer company focused on the development of youth soccer in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono Area. The company runs camps, clinics, leagues, and various other soccer related functions. Over the past year he has worked with well over 100 goalkeepers in various clubs as well as colleges.
Coach Riedmiller is also an NSCAA certified coach and goalkeeper trainer. He has received his Regional and Advanced Regional coaching diploma as well as his State and Regional Goalkeeper Coach Diploma. His coaching experience also includes stints at Stroudsburg United Soccer Club, where he was the Assistant Director of Development as well as a goalkeeper trainer. During his time with Stroudsburg United he received specialized training at Italian Serie A club A.C. Perugia.
Coach Riedmiller enjoys the challenges that come with being a goalkeeper and firmly believes that it is the most important position on the field. His favorite thing about goalkeeping is that it is the last line of defense and the first line of offense.
